When the twilight has gone
And the birds start to sing
When the clouds darken
And the trees begin to swing
From a light evening breeze
And a last glimpse of the sun
On the horizon ,On the wing
Thoughts turn to Love
And the need to sustain
The tender loving care
From the pressures of the day

When the foxes start to roam
The urban streets of shame
When the owls fly out
And the mice hide in the drain
The mistress of surprise
comes to you again
She sits within her car
And says its bloody cold
Will you come to the door
And let her in.
This cant be true
shes not really there
But you go to the door
Her car is there
And she is within
I cannot stay
she says to me
A tease in her eyes
I just came to say
Hello and goodbye
And then I'm on my way
I look at her with wonder
Wary of her words
I want her to stay
But I dare not
Utter
A single sound
My hearts abound
With excitement
I silently shiver
Surely she jests
She cannot be so cruel
to make me look a fool
and then she exits her car
and kisses me with a passion
and I cover her with my arms
With joy and
Tenderness
My love has come
Without me knowing
And I silently sigh
and look into her eyes
I see her love
And I feel wanted
We clasp each other
And melt into one
We love through the evening
With vigour and energy
until she has to go
But we love each other
More than we did before
And she is reluctant to leave
Her heart upon her sleeve
And I love
The pleasure she has brought
The Owl hoots and calls
When Darkness falls
